Following their advanced roles in Valentino’s unconventional Paris Fashion Week runway show, celebrated actors Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson continued to showcase the seriousness of true professional models with all the eccentric humour of world-class comedians in the recent S/S15 Valentino photo-shoot.
Assuming their familiar movie roles of Derek Zoolander and Hansel, the animated pair demonstrated an impromptu ‘walk-off’ on the Valentiono runway last month clad in the label’s latest silk suits, triggering a mass of excitement and anticipation behind the upcoming Zoolander movie sequel.
Tuesday evening sparked further attention when the pair exposed a new level of ‘satire meets reality’ in a staged photo shoot in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower. Zoolander and Hansel flaunted casual cameo-prints and expertly retained blue steel pouts alongside supermodels, Tilda Lindstan and Xiao Wen Ju who were clad in pre-fall outfits. All beautifully poised ardently against the scenic Parisian backdrop.
Whether the stint was a glimpse of an imminent Valentino advertisement campaign, or simply a scene from the movie’s second installment, we can all agree that the act is a strong move in achieving publicity for both Zoolander 2 and the designer’s new collection.
Zoolander 2, which is set to release in February 2016, is reported to feature American fashion model Karlie Kloss alongside a host of A-list and fashion focused faces. Talented costume designer Leesa Evans, who has been delegated the role of creating looks for the movie, stated:
“I hope that like 50 percent of the people will say, “That is gorgeous!” and the other 50 will say, “That is hilarious!” then I’ll feel like I really did my job.”
We already can’t wait!
