Commonly known as the oldest tennis tournament in the world, The Championships, Wimbledon is a prestigious event where a host of sports enthusiastic attendees are welcomed to celebrate the five major events of the world’s biggest tennis tournament. One week before the prestigious evernt begins, we look to the stars who have showcased the most exquisite and fashionable looks throughout the years. Last year’s event welcomed a respectful number of celebrities including Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z, Hugh Grant, Heidi Klum, Ellen DeGeneres and of course – the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. From glamorous dresses, skirts, two-piece ensembles and accessories from the ladies, to polished suits, three-piece attires and dapper looks from the gents, Wimbledon has shown us all things glam and we have selected best dressed celebs spotted at the court side and the Wimbledon Vogue Party last year.
Taking an influence from the timeless feminine 50’s silhouette, Jessica Chastain wore a mega-glamorous midi dress by Ralph Lauren. Simplistic yet exceptionally elegant, the sleeveless dress featured a tonal waist-emphasising belt, a modern crew neckline and a contrasting white panel for a subtle monochrome look. Looking stunning and sophisticated, the actress complemented her look with a sleek pair of high heels and a sultry red lipstick.
Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk
The power couple Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper both looked exceptionally sharp when attending last year’s tournament. Amongst the fashionable crowd, these renowned celebs truly stood out thanks to their clean-cut attires and elegant accessories. Bradley opted for a sophisticated suit, a light blue collared shirt and some handsome sunglasses, whilst Irina went for a navy shirt and some minimalist accessories to welcome the championship season and they both looked stunning.
Artistic as she is, Kim Murray was spotted at the Wimbledon court wearing a long sleeved shirt dress by Kate Spade. With a feminine lace-tie neckline and a floral pattern that effortlessly embraced her creative artist side, the dress was adorned in red and pink tones for a very playful and youthful touch. She completed the look with a large tote bag by Aspinal of London.
Douglas Booth looked exquisitely dapper wearing head-to-toe Ralph Lauren. With a more of a relaxed approach, he opted for a buttoned-down collar on his shirt, a checked two-piece suit and some timeless tasselled suede loafers and looked effortlessly chic.
Sam Rollinson and Charlotte Wiggins
Showcasing a truly summery vibe, the two models both appeared at the Vogue Wimbledon party wearing flowy drape dresses and envelope clutches from the Ralph Lauren collection. Sam opted for an intricate floral dress with a playful collar, puffed sleeves and a thin waist tie and completed the look with a striking hot pink clutch, whilst Charlotte wore a delicate white dress with spaghetti straps and a widened v-neckline that was beautifully completed with a small suede clutch adorned in beige.
Spotted at the Centre Court for the day eight of last year’s tournament, Sierra Miller wore a chic midi dress by Burberry. Opting for an effortless yet ultra chic look, the vivid red dress featured a cool crew neckline, three petite buttons and some contrasting sporty stripes whilst showcasing a stunning draped silhouette with a large slit to front. Just the right ensemble for a fun day at the tennis court, the actress completed her look with a small leather tote and some matching sunglasses.
Whilst attending the Vogue Wimbledon party last year, Mollie King wore a Ralph Lauren Collection gown and looked absolutely stunning. Taken inspiration from the Ralph Lauren’s vintage desert-inspired collection, the maxi dress featured a deepened v-neck vest bodice with two flap pockets and a draped silk satin skirt with a sheer overlay. Looking exceptionally glamorous yet tennis-ready, the actress finished her ensemble with a burnished leather buckle belt.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter
Yet another power couple we cannot get enough of, Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter both looked incredibly jazzy whilst enjoying the tennis tournament last year. Sophie opted for a playful, collared midi dress by Temperley London which featured a cute star print throughout and an intricate yoke, whilst Benedict wore an ultra-dapper suit by Thom Sweeney which he completed with a purple tie and a silver brooch.
Wearing head-to-toe Ralph Lauren, Luke Evans looked super charming in his sharp and handsome attire. His two-piece suit composed a sleek double breasted jacket with gold buttons and a sleek pair of trousers both adorned in a subtle check pattern. Completing the look with a white shirt, a blue tie with a silver clip and some polished leather oxford brogues, the actor seamlessly turned heads at last year’s event.
