Wimbledon 2015: Off-Court Style Moments

With Wimbledon reaching it’s nail-biting crescendo yesterday, we thought it was time to round up the most fashionable moments from the cream of the style crop and crown our winners. Undoubtedly the world’s most fashionable sporting event, Wimbledon gave us not only a front row seat to world class tennis but also bags of style inspiration that will last all summer long.

Tennis pros Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Andy Murray and, of course, men’s singles winner Novak Djokovic entertained us in crisp whites on court whilst A-list and royal spectators alike garnered for our attention off-court in an array of designer delights showcasing an exquisite plethora of bold prints and classic colour palettes.

Taking the lead in the signature Wimbledon-white style stakes was of course the unstoppable ladies final champion Serena Williams, who reigned supreme defeating Spaniard Garbine Muguruza to triumph in her sixth Wimbledon title. Williams jumped for joy wearing a thigh-skimming dress in a subtle animal print over skin-tight shorts, nailing the sporty aesthetic by finishing her look with a Nike crop top – all in white, of course.

The A-list ladies weren’t far behind in their delicate whites, with Sienna Miller sporting a gorgeous jumpsuit by British brand Galvan, channelling old-Hollywood glamour with a square neckline, cinched-in waist and leg-lengthening billowing trousers, effortlessly complemented by a classic red lip and tortoiseshell shades.

Kim Murray mirrored her husband’s on-court whites in his first game of the tournament with a high-street ensemble that wouldn’t be out of place on the streets of Santourini, wearing a simple lace (and now sold out!) number from Zara, paired with strappy bronze-heeled suede sandals from Topshop for a delicate feminine appeal. Murray’s second game saw his better half championing high-street minimalism yet again, in a floral shift with a clean-cut Peter Pan collar from Ted Baker. Ever the diplomat, Kim was careful not to upstage the Duchess of Cambridge and dressed down for the semi-final, partnering a Le Marais tuxedo jacket with an oversized white shirt and classic skinny jeans, with those trusty Topshop sandals from Murray match number one making a sneaky second appearance. Ace your own summer ensembles like Kim with our collection of minimalist day dresses.

However, our winner for the white queen crown has to go to none other than former Bond-girl Rosamund Pike, who drew many coveting eyes into the Royal Box at the women’s final, sporting a white scalloped shirt and A-line skirt by Antonio Berardi, which she teamed with a camouflage print bag from Cara Delevingne’s collection for Mulberry and classic pumps. Effortlessly chic – advantage Team Pike!

Wimbledon fanatics the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge stunned as always whilst making their first appearance of the 2015 festival at the men’s quarter-final, oozing class in a dapper tailored suit for William and a svelte LK Bennett dress for Kate, who accentuated her trim post-pregnancy physique in a resplendent red. Looking immaculate and beautiful as ever, Kate kept accessorising minimal, letting her signature bouncy blow-dry and exquisite royal ring complement her bold look to sophisticated perfection.

Clearly style is in the genes for the Middleton clan if the examples of Kate, Pippa and now James are anything to go by. Pippa, who we previously thought had swapped style notes with her sister went in a completely different direction, opting for a monochrome printed Carolina Herrera peplum top and trousers, striking a note of fashion-forward sophistication enhanced by matching wedge heels and white clutch. Her brother James, a.k.a the latest Middleton on our style radar,  made a dapper statement in a tailored grey suit smartly accented with pastel blue shirting and a pair of blue suede boots. The bearded gentleman completed his slick courtside style, and cemented his place on our covet list, with a pair of black shades.
