Simple, light and easy. The Hawaiian Ahi tuna poke bowl found on iamafoodblog, is perfect for eating healthy this season. Stuffed with flavour and healthy ingredients, the Tuna poke bowl with a twist of quinoa is excellent for all you food lovers, both suited to lunch time and dinner time this meal will hit the spot. If quinoa isn’t your thing or its not stacked on the shelves, rice can be used (the original Hawaiian way)
For the Tuna Poke Bowl:
Serves 2-4 people
2 Tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 Tablespoon sweet soy sauce
1 Teaspoon toasted sesame oil
1/2 Teaspoon finely grated fresh ginger
1/2 Teaspoon finely grated garlic
1 LB Ahi Tuna, cut into bite size cubes
1/4 Cup sliced green onions
1/4 Finely diced onion
Smoked sea salt, to taste
Toasted sesame seeds, to taste
1 Avocado peeled, pitted and sliced
Short grain white rice, or quinoa if preferred
Edamame, if desired
Sprouts, if desired
Crispy shallots, if desired
Whisk together in a small bowl, the soy sauces, sesame oil, fresh ginger and garlic.
In a different bowl mix the Tuna and all the onions, then mix together with the soy sauce mix.
Make sure Tuna is all evenly coated. Store in fridge for 1 hour at minimum.
Once ready, taste the Tuna and add any sauces extra, to taste.
Once ready serve with rice or quinoa and add the avocado, edamame, sprouts and crispy shallots.
