The MTV Movie Awards 2014

On Sunday 13th April Conan O’Brien hosted the 2014 MTV Movie Awards which took place in the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles. Whilst The Wolf of Wall Street and American Hustle both had eight nominations each, it was The Hunger Games: Catching Fire that won the Movie of the Year award.  Whilst Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, took home awards for the best male and the best female performance for their roles in the film.

The other featured awards were Best Comedic Performance: Jonah Hill, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’

Best Onscreen Transformation: Jared Leto, ‘Dallas Buyers Club’

And Best Villain went to Mila Kunis for Oz The Great And Powerful who mentioned in her acceptance speech that she was the only woman nominated in the category and said “You just made my 12-year-old self’s dream come true!”

But never mind the movies, for those of you who missed it, a main highlight of the awards ceremony was when singer, Rita Ora, tore off Zac Efrons shirt, whilst winning the award for Best Shirtless Performance in the upcoming film The Other Woman.

The night also featured a tribute to the Fast and Furious star, Paul Walker, a performance of the hit ‘Monster’ from Rihanna and Eminem, who are set to tour together this summer, Channing Tatum winning the Trailblazer award and Mark Wahlberg receiving the Generation award.
