Why wait until summer – enjoy that well-deserved break early this year with a spring getaway! Escape the April showers by visiting one of these gorgeous destinations.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dubrovnik is the perfect holiday destination if you can’t decide between a relaxing beach holiday and city break. Get a dose of both relaxation and culture in this southern Croatian city, known for its coastal location and distinctive Old Town complete with 16th century city walls. There’s fascinating sights to explore here, from ancient monasteries to Baroque churches and Renaissance palaces. Temperatures rise to a pleasant level of 14-17°C during the day in April and will reach up to 20°C in May – perfect for city sightseeing and a dip in the Adriatic sea.

Marrakech is perfect for spring – after all, the sun shines nearly all year in this Moroccan desert city. With a lusciously green landscape and daytime highs of 27°C, midday temperatures are just right for a break in the sunshine that won’t be uncomfortably hot. Nights are cooler, so you may need to pack layers to explore the city and its bustling marketplaces selling traditional textiles, pottery and jewellery. Spring is a great time to visit, with temperatures at an average of 17°C during the season. Whether you’re looking for a solo trip, a quiet couples break or a family holiday, this luscious island ticks all the boxes and has plenty to see and do. Visit the fascinating Neolithic Ġgantija Temple ruins, hike around the gorgeous landscape, relax on the beach or try a spot of scuba diving.
