The Holiday Report: New Years Eve Around The World

New Year’s Eve, the most spectacular annual event, and we want to be at the biggest party of the year… no matter where it may be. To get ready for the festivities, here at Jules B we have searched the globe to find who will host the top celebrations this New Year’s. From street party’s, to picnics by the beach we are sure you won’t want to stay home this year – so pack your bags and jet off to say hello to 2017 in style.

New York

Travel to the most popular New Year’s Eve party, New York’s Times Square. With the highly anticipated ball drop you can chime the countdown with many who have gathered here from all over the globe. If you want to escape the crowds, we suggest hopping over to Brooklyn, where they welcome in the new year with amazing fireworks and live music at the Grand Army Plaza, then head over to one of the neighborhood’s famous warehouse parties. For the brave (and crazy) ones, in the morning, take a trip to Coney Island and start 2017 with a dip in the Atlantic at the annual Polar Bear Club New Year’s Day swim, it is guaranteed to wake you up after an eventful night. Make sure to treat yourself to a delicious brunch and warm mug of New York’s finest coffee at the Wise Espresso Bar.

Madrid

“Feliz ano nuevo!” the cheer heard among Spaniards at New Year’s eve. Here in Madrid friends and family will come together for a magnificent feast to celebrate the end of the 2016, then make their way to the Puerto del Sol, decked out in gorgeous light decor, the square hosts the countdown to the new year. Stay at the luxury Hotel Vincci Soho, just a few minutes from the square and close to central Madrid so you can join in the festivities throughout the night.

Sydney

Start 2017 before the rest, in Sydney, where you can witness the most spectacular firework display right over Sydney Harbour. Join the crowd on Harbour Bridge, or disappear into North Sydney’s Blue Point Reserve to sit on the waterside with a glass of bubbly and slice from Blues Point Groumet Pizzas. Venture into the mainland to continue the evening with drinks at the Rag & Famish Hotel, and relax on New Year’s Day at Bondi Beach, with a tasty cocktail and seafood platter at The Bucket List.

London

Venture to the capital city this year for a lively and luxury New Year’s Eve party. The annual firework display over the city centre is certainly high on our list, but for those looking for a something different we have a couple of excellent options. The Bocconcino in Mayfair will be hosting a Great Gatsby Dinner Party, to include a delicious four course meal, live music and performances and bottomless drinks to last the night. Alternatively head over to Pop Brixton, with a jazzy DJ set, scrumptious street food and all manners of drinks for the entire evening. After a fun night, we hope you can haul yourself out of bed to make it to the incredible New Year’s Day parade, but if you need a little ‘pick me up’ then nip into The Elgin, Maida Vale, where you can refuel on a tasty breakfast and rich coffee.
