The Great Outdoors

Finding your forever coat can be a difficult task, especially when you’re searching for something that perfectly combines practicality and style. The AW16 catwalks were packed with military details, whilst outdoor finishes and technical fabrics adorned the front row at this year’s SS17 shows.

Spotted in a quilted parka at London Fashion week, French Vogue Editor-In-Chief, Emmanuelle Alt turned the tables on the dress code this season. Showing us that you can exhibit chic style whilst wrapping up warm, Alt teamed her parka with a pair of sultry knee high boots proving that the practical parka can also be the perfect partner to any look.

Puffed up oversized bomber jackets take centre stage this season along with a spectrum of bold colours and statement outdoor military details to bring an off duty edge to any look.

Pairing down is not on the cards however. Colour co-ordinate your layers and make use of those summer jackets and blazers by styling them with a descreat gilet as a base layer. This is a great way to style up and add warmth to workwear or formal looks.

If you don’t want to join the casual khaki bandwagon, keep it feminine and keep it chic with cosy tailored wool. Give conservative outfits edge with notched lapels and fur lined collars for an instant injection of chic.
