Whilst Somerset House, London is gearing up to host this year’s Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition in May. We at Jules B found ourselves wondering what’s all the fuss about?
The Awards were launched in 2008 and are ‘dedicated to supporting and cultivating photographic culture.’ Experts and amateurs alike are free to enter, with the hosts hoping to discover new and upcoming talent every year as well as pay respect to photographic legends. Amidst a whole heap of fantastic entries from all corners of the globe, this week the competition announced it’s finalists. Categories included ‘Smile’, ‘Enhanced Photography’, ‘Panoramic’, ‘Nature and Wildlife’, ‘People’, and ‘Arts and Culture’ amongst others. Needless to say they are all stunning and you will be wanting to carve out a photography career for yourself once you’ve feasted your eyes on the winning entries.
