Paris Couture Shows 2014

The fashion calendar is beginning to warm up with the second event of the season: Paris Couture Fashion Week. With high class designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Chanel, Versace and many more.

“I like a woman to look controlled and elegant, but also for her to have a provocative attitude.” – Donatella Versace

The Goddess: power and femininity – once again Donatella’s inspiration for this season. A collection of shimmering vibrant colours, with sparkling jewels and luxurious fabrics with buoyant yet glamorous designs. The main piece from the show was the featured draped hood as a tribute to the official muse of the show Grace Jones with drop neck cowls at the front and back, plunging necklines and some semi-transparent fabrics.  However there was talk from the show with Lady Gaga as the unofficial muse, who also made a front row appearance. With clashing looks of floor length gowns and dresses to show off the body, Versace gave a spectacular performance of enchanted attire booming with charisma.

John Paul Gaultier

Beginning with uber chic tailored looks to flatter the figure, to flamboyant show girl ensembles. With a featured appearance from Dita Von Teese, the show was a spectacular success. Featured throughout the collection were layers upon layers of chiffon and sexy back laced dresses, showcasing the classic Gaultier style. Not forgetting the tremendous ravishing and vibrant headdresses that were hard to miss.
