Milan Fashion Week

Last week, the much awaited Milan Fashion week sprung into action launching flourishing trends by renowned designers showcasingtheir remarkable AW15/16 collections. With the event finally drawing to a close on March 3rd, Milan Fashion week has observed many key shows to remember from the likes of Alberta Ferreti, Gucci, Stella Jean, Moschino, Armani and Versace amongst many more! As always, in the middle of the designers, directors, models & the frequent catwalk shows were the equally watched celebrities and the street style lovers outside. Here are a few of our favourite street style looks from Milan:

As the week began to take shape, a show to be remembered was Alberta Feretti’s AW15/16 collection ‘Sunrise to Sunset’ that was translated digitally to mirror Ferertti’s poetic inspiration. There were only a few winter outerwear pieces shown which consisted of coats in brown, green, orange & gold, whilst the majority of the main collection included tailored trousers, ankle length skirts and long sleeved shirts and tops with a distinct medieval historical influence.

Moschino was definitely one to watch as always. Known for its bold & quirky take on fashion, with previous ‘Barbie’ collections & cartoon characters inspired pieces, this season showcased the new teddy bear inspired range. Jeremy Scott has been creative director of Moschino for over a year and has changed the Italian fashion house drastically. He is known to find fun in fashion and his collection undeniably mirrors that. Yes, maybe some of the stuff is rather out there however it’s impossible to not smile when you see the collections take place!

Additionally, In keeping with Versace’s true aesthetic, the AW15/16 collection flaunted just that with the brands signature key Greek symbol seen in vivid primary shades of red, green, yellow & blue emblazoned over most of the items in the show. Missoni’s show on Sunday night made it official for everyone in the fashion world, the ‘80s are back and it couldn’t look better. Known for its playful & vibrant looks, the brand demonstrated flashier pieces for AW15/16 this year with shoulder-padded jackets, bodycon dreses & lots of shiny lurex with an exciting colour clashing palette. Sophisticated & stunning, the Giorgio Armani AW15/16 collection was exceptional as the brand introduced the world to a new skirt/trouser hybrid consisting of a wrap-around skirt layered over a pair of slim fitting trousers all in one piece! The trousers & blouses were decorated with brushstrokes patterns alongside several gorgeous gowns. The majority of the pieces from this collection were based around trousers, accompanied with knitted jackets, peter pan collars, flirty feminine blouses & soft funnel-neck sweaters.
