McQ Alexander McQueen AW14

McQ, a contemporary diffusion line by Alexander McQueen first launched in January 2006, showcases a  youthful, relaxed, raw edge whilst staying true to its maker’s rebellious mainline.  McQ is a denim-based, ready-to-wear line including menswear, womenswear, and accessories embodying an urban, young London feel. McQ has always taken inspiration from street culture, evoking the varied and ever-evolving style tribes that spring up around Britain’s rich music and art scenes.

The McQ AW14 campaign features, loose soft texture oversized knits, patched and leather trimmed denim, drop stitch jumpers and textured sweatshirts, along with monochrome sunglasses finished with plush, wearable outerwear. Innocently faced, models Natalie Westling and Paul Barge, create sultry stares and showcase radiant skin, representing the youthful edge which the sub-brand portrays. Shot in South West London by Karim Saldi, enhancing the brand’s British heritage among one of the main locations for Burton’s inspiration.

Throughout the AW14 ready-to-wear collections, animal designs have a frequent appearance within the men’s and women’s collections. Leopard print is the main appearance among the womenswear collection whilst the men’s ready-to-wear collection has taken a more gothic approach with graphic prints and illustrations of animals and their skeletons along with many engraved prints as a main feature.
