First viewed at New York fashion week in February, the Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter collection embraced the 9 to 5 seventies look. Walked by the likes of Cara Delevingne, Lindsey Wixson and Daphne Groeneveld, this season is the epitome of glamour.
The warm palette perfectly complemented the androgynous tailoring, a contrast to the silk used in the more feminine pieces. Over-sized leaf prints reference trends of the 70’s era, with high waisted a-line skirts and a contemporary take on the 70’s shirt. Not forgetting the red lips and big hair fashionable in the 70’s. The rest of the collection was made up of geometric prints and beautiful silk shift dresses. The models were accessorised with boxy and circular bags, platform heels and over-sized sunglasses.
The menswear nodded towards a 60’s mod style, the silk suits almost pyjama like paired with roll neck jumpers and tailored coats referencing classic British tailoring.
