Le Specs sunglasses transform their wearer, channeling a continental-look synonymous with the likes of chic European city-dwellers. Combining their 80’s heritage with iconic styles has helped Le Specs gain success, a clear, cool aesthetic and a cult of celebrity followers including the likes of Beyonce and Rihanna.
It comes with no surprise then that this summer the brand are collaborating with Australian-born painter, Anthony Lister. Self proclaimed with ‘graffiti disease’ Lister has graffiti-ed his way to becoming Australia’s most well-known street artist and has now worked his way into the world of accessories. Lister has been given the opportunity to rework his modern, twisted street designs to the classic shapes of Le Specs and in doing so, has crafted the most spectacular pieces of eye-wear for the brand’s latest campaign. Brand designer Hamish Tame provided Lister with his canvas, from wayfarers to aviators, in return for an ad campaign that truly makes a statement.
Despite their bold vibrancy and appeal to those looking to make a statement this summer, unfortunately Lister’s bespoke pieces will not be going on sale and were created purely for advertising purposes: an unarguably effective and eye-catching campaign. Le Specs fans will however still be able to purchase the ungraffitied, time-honored frames in the Summer 2015 collection, which is probably for the best… at least you’ll still be able to see where you’re going!
