It’s no wonder that the current Princess of pop and all things fashionably eccentric, Lady Gaga, has joined forces with Royalty of the fashion world, Donatella Versace, to become the face of the new Versace Spring/Summer ’14 campaign, aptly named ‘Lady Gaga for Versace‘.
With a collaboration strongly on the cards for a while, all the signs have finally added up – with a dedicated track to Versace on Gaga’s latest album, appearances together at Milan fashion week and Gaga’s spectacular entrance to the Amercian Music Awards on the ‘Horse of Troy’ with an identical dress to the one sported in the new S/S ’14 campaign, as each other’s fans and friends – this is a collaboration not to be missed!
A teaser image was released last week showing the singer posing for shots taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, whilst Donatella excitedly stated “I am honoured that my friend Lady Gaga is the face of our new Versace campaign. I wanted to capture her true beauty and spirit in images that are elegant and alluring. She is like family to me, the embodiment of the Versace DNA.”
The label believes ‘Lady Gaga completely captures the Versace essence: creative, experimental and fearless‘. Looking strikingly similar to Donatella herself, Lady Gaga is styled with long platinum blonde straight hair reclining on a chaise longue in a lilac Versace dress, whilst showcasing the signature Versace Medusa badge around her neck.
We also gain a sneak peek of the new Palazzo bag to complement the collection!
