Mario Testino, one of fashion’s most legendary and prolific photographers celebrated his 60th birthday this Wednesday at London’s Chiltern Firehouse. The Peruvian fashion photographer’s career high-point was in 1997 when Princess Diana chose him for her Vanity Fair Photo shoot, raising him to fame and soon being regarded as one of the industries favourite photographers.

He has the ability to draw quite a crowd; therefore it comes as no surprise that an array of celebrities and biggest names commemorate the landmark with attendance to the big event. The theme was 1940s Havana: red, black and white, a host of designers and some of fashion’s elite including Stella McCartney, Valentino Garavani, Sienne Miller, Suki Waterhouse, Rita Ora, Poppy Delevingne, Lara Stone and David Walliams stepped out dressed on theme for the glamorous event.

Supermodels Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss showcased their status as two of the world’s biggest style icons in spectacular jaw-dropping outfits. Kate opted for a sheer net Halfpenny London dress worn over a network leopard printed bodysuit by Stella McCartney,  with 1940’s-esque side swept curls and smouldering red lipstick. Not to be outdone, Naomi caught the eye in a glistening silver gown with a plunging neckline and a snake statement necklace, finished with dark lipstick and oversized red roses in her hair.

The Peruvian famed fashion photographer and man of the hour was the ultimate dapper gent and donned a fake moustache and an elegant white tuxedo and black bow tie. He couldn’t have looked happier to have two of his best friends and colleagues on either arm as they entered the venue as a trio to celebrate his big day.

The biggest surprise of the night was pop sensation- Kylie Minogue jumping out of a giant cake before serenading Testino with a special performance and sexy rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’. Now there are very few who can say they have witnessed such performance, but Mario is famed for rubbing shoulders with the industries finest. Kylie wowed the star-studded audience that included Tinie Tempah and Burberry’s Christopher Bailey, in a slinky sequinned number. Shortly after, turning to Instagram to announce her routine to her followers, posting a photograph with the caption: ‘So…. yes…. I popped out of a cake to sing #Happy Birthday for @MarioTestinio tonight.’

Happy Birthday Mario from the Jules B team.
