The most prestigious event in the music calendar arrived on Sunday night for the 57th Grammy award. Obviously it is where the world’s biggest stars are honoured for their talents; however it’s also a chance for the stars to get styled up head to toe in the biggest and best designers around and our chance to see what they wear!
Sam Smith had a huge night at the ceremony where he was nominated for six Grammy awards alongside the likes of Pharrell and Beyonce, and won record of the year, song of the year and best new artist with his infamous song “Stay with me (Darkchild version).” Sadly Beyonce missed out on the award for ‘album of the year’ where Beck won the honour for rock album of the year with ‘Morning Phase.’ As to much of Kanye West’s despair he made it evidently clear how he felt when he jokingly jumped up on stage pretending to ambush Beck’s speech like he did with Taylor Swift for the VMA’s in 2009. Beyonce and Jay Z look visibly mortified until they realise it was all joke, however it appears that Beck didn’t see it quite as funny when gesturing to Kanye if he would like to finish.
Despite Kanye’s role in playing the joker, the ceremony appeared to have a surprising amount of incredibly serious performances starting off with Ushers tribute to Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry’s emotional tribute dedicated to a survivor of domestic violence & Beyonce closing the show with “Take my hand precious Lord,” creating a very solemn ambiance for the awards ceremony.
The stars were sure to make a dazzling impression at the Grammys this year, showcasing a series of stylish outfits that we’ve never seen before whether it was perceived as good or bad! Starting off with Kim Kardashian West, she was looking super-star glam in a decadent robe dress by renowned designer Jean Paul Gaultier, however there appeared to be a lot of mixed opinions over her dress that was covered in beautifully detailed embellishments.
Katy Perry looked sensational with her daring purple hair & in her Zuhair Murad dress that was covered in twinkling fringes and tassels giving her the ultimate A-list appeal.
Moreover, Beyonce looked incredible in her skilfully embroidered Proenza Schouler gown that certainly gave her that winning look to match with her three Grammys that she took home.
Additionally the Haim sisters looked exceptionally sleek and sophisticated styled in their Chloe & Stella McCartney outfits, amongst many more.
