Festival Fashion Fever : Party at the Palace

With British festival season in full-swing, at Jules B we’ve been coveting the fashion enthusiasts looking fresh in their festival-finest and asking ourselves exactly how the full-time attendees look so campsite-cool after 3 days of living from a rucksack under a sheet of plastic.  This year we’ve already seen Gasto-warriors, trendy T in the Park goers, and hippy Secret Garden Party gatherers rock the style-agenda and it’s actually fairly easy to copy their extravagant ensembles if you’re looking for outfit inspo… festival wear is here to stay so of course you needed to sport one of the following: outrageous hair, double denim, statement sunglasses or boho-fringing.

The month of August showcases some of the most anticipated festivals of the year so if you’re attending an upcoming event then you’re in the right place. Weather dependent (yes, believe it or not we are in the midst of summer) our festival picks have got you covered – you’ll definitely be getting your photo taken rain or shine so taking inspiration from fashion moguls and full-time festival fans such as Alexa Chung and Kate Moss we’ve put together an eclectic mix of pieces. So if you’re preening yourself for Party at the Palace this weekend or  heading to a similar Boutique event where grungy garments aren’t as acceptable, then this is the blog for you. We’ve managed to combine smart and casual which is never as easy as it sounds, and created some boho-chic ideas to make sure you’re dressed your best.

Never go without your sunglasses at a British festival because 1) you never know when the sun might surprise you, and 2) they’re an instant hair accessory! Shop our full collection here including the vintage-inspired Le Specs.

Beading? Check. Embroidery? Check. Comfortable and cool? Check. This hippy-inspired peasant top by Velvet by Graham & Spencer is a staple piece that ticks all the boxes whilst keeping your look clean and crisp.

We know it’s summer, but sandals are a no-go for festival footwear. Grab yourself a pair of flat Chelsea boots instead because long periods of standing, walking to the stage and dancing are required – plus you’ll need to protect your tootsies from crowds of people! You can shop this Isabel Marant pair and similar styles in our footwear collection.

Outfit staples sorted, you need to remember that Boutique Festivals are often without a campsite and much more family orientated. Think picnic hamper, Pimms and a big blanket for you to return to after watching your favourite acts. You’ll need a practical bag to squeeze in all of your valuable essentials for the day which you won’t be able to throw in your tent. We suggest a backpack similar to this Michael Kors piece to ensure your accessories complement your style-savvy outfit with unrivaled practicality.

Looks like you’re all set for a day at Party in the Palace! Enjoy! Oh, and don’t forget your ticket!
