Last night at the Royal Albert Hall we honoured the exceptional British fashion of this last year, for the Fashion Awards 2016. Quite rightly, British Vogue was at the centre of the event to end their 12-month celebration of Vogue: 100 years, to commemorate, dear friend of the magazine, Mario Testino presented Alexandra Shulman with a Special Recognition Award. Jules B is delighted to see some of our own brands honoured at yesterday’s event, Self Portrait was nominated for emerging talent and Alexander McQueen winning the British Brand award. With a red carpet to conquer all red carpets, the night was graced by the stars of fashion, from supermodels Kate Moss to Jean Campell and renowned designer Dontella Versace to emerging talent winner Molly Goddard. Take a look at our favourite luxury looks from the illustrious event.
The LBD never look so glamorous. Karlie Kloss took to the red carpet in a star-sparkle Stella McCartney gown, the alluring bodice showed-off plunging sides whilst the floor-length skirt owned a velvet trim and Kloss polished the look coral red lips.
British model, Naleema Gill, wore a vivid electric blue dress accented with delicate black lace. The young model elegantly stepped out in this high slit skirt, to show off her black platform killer heels.
One of our much-loved sartorialists, Olivia Palermo wore a Japanese inspired gown, elevated by beautiful embroidery decor. With a sophisticated take on the cold-shoulder trend, Palermo complemented this flouncy slit skirt with a pair of suede stiletto boots.
Fashion writer Derek Blasberg made us ‘pink’ with envy as he wore this luxurious velvet blazer to last night’s event. Blasberg perfectly matched the vibrant flamingo shade with a simple white shirt and satin dicky-bow for a unique take on ‘black-tie’ dress.
The high-class supermodel choose to forgo the gown and stunned photographers in a white tuxedo, complete with sleek stilettos. Herzigova’s monochrome look, the black shirt peeped from beneath, was a fresh ensemble for the night, enhanced only by a bold red lip.
Winner of International Model, Gigi Hadid, was as elegant as ever in her baby blue Atelier Versace jumpsuit. The garment lovingly accentuated Hadid’s figure, with a floor length skirt which graced over the pair of tailored pants for a fit-and-flare look. The plunging bodice was adorned in elaborate detail for a true designer quality.
