In Beverly Hills on Sunday evening the biggest stars of film and TV joined for 74th Golden Globe Awards, a prestigious ceremony that honours the best in entertainment of the past year. The night, as it always does, started with the stars strutting the red carpet in chic, sharp ensembles. Trends translated straight from the catwalk to the red carpet in plunging and off-the shoulder necklines and many dared to bring bright pops of colour to the stage. We have chosen some of our favourite looks for the evening, with a few names we know from the Jules B website.
Looking divine in Alexander McQueen, Nicole Kidman gave the off-the-shoulder trend an elegant update. Embellished in silver gems, the gown hugged Nicole’s figure beautifully, ending in a ruffled train – perfect for the velvet runway.
Before winning her first Golden Globe for the much anticipated La La Land, Emma Stone had us all in awe. The charming Valentino number showed off the actresses stunning figure and was adorned in glittery stars that fell all the way down a delicate train – Emma must have known she would be the star of the night.
Silver tones and embellishments dominated the red carpet this year, and Sarah Paulson shined out among the rest in this Marc Jacobs gown. The full length dress had a futurist vibe, covered in swirling sequins and featured sharp oversized shoulders. Paulson finished the look with a metallic clutch and large jewels.
Priyanka always knows how to stun on the carpet. On Sunday night she shimmered in a golden dress from the Ralph Lauren collection, complementing the low-cut style with a drop necklace, Priyanka showcased a royal aesthetic throughout.
Yellow is certainly a way to stand out against the red carpet. Reese Witherspoon showed off her hourglass figure in this citron gown from Atelier Versace, the strapless number displayed an simple elegance, with a side slit to polish off the overall look.
