Model-turned-actress, Cara Delevingne, adopts her first starring role in the hotly anticipated Rom-Com, Paper Towns, hitting UK cinemas on the 17th of August. Directed by Jake Schreier (of ‘Robot & Frank) and adapted from the bestselling novel by author John Green, The Fault in Our Stars. Paper Towns is a coming-of-age story centering on Quentin (Nat Wolff) and his enigmatic neighbour Margo (Cara Delevingne) who loved mysteries so much she became one. After taking him on an all-night adventure through their hometown, Margo suddenly disappears – leaving behind cryptic clues for Quentin to decipher. The search leads Quentin and his quick-witted friends on an exhilarating adventure that is equal parts hilarious and moving. Ultimately, to track down Margo, Quentin must find a deeper understanding on true friendship – and true love.
Cara has conquered the runways and social media, now she’s taking Hollywood. Paper Towns, along with her role in next year’s DC Comics ensemble Suicide Squad, could take her on the rare path from the least conventional kind of celebrity there is to a Hollywood leading lady. Famed as much for her off-beat personality and laid-back style as her modelling accolades, Delevingne has truly conquered what it is to be a 21st century global star, allowing her to transition between showbiz spheres effortlessly. Unlike other actresses making their film debut, Delevingne is already hugely famous, thanks to two things that are inextricably linked: her personality and her social media presence. These two factors, along with her thoroughly replicable fashion sense, have served only to elevate her higher into the ‘fashion icon’ realm.
This week on the Style File, we’re deconstructing Cara’s off-duty style so you can build your own Delevingne-inspired ensembles.
