Cara Delevingne Debuts in Paper Towns

Model-turned-actress, Cara Delevingne, adopts her first starring role in the hotly anticipated Rom-Com, Paper Towns, hitting UK cinemas on the 17th of August. Directed by Jake Schreier (of ‘Robot & Frank) and adapted from the bestselling novel by author John Green, The Fault in Our Stars. Paper Towns is a coming-of-age story centering on Quentin (Nat Wolff) and his enigmatic neighbour Margo (Cara Delevingne) who loved mysteries so much she became one. After taking him on an all-night adventure through their hometown, Margo suddenly disappears – leaving behind cryptic clues for Quentin to decipher. The search leads Quentin and his quick-witted friends on an exhilarating adventure that is equal parts hilarious and moving. Ultimately, to track down Margo, Quentin must find a deeper understanding on true friendship – and true love.

Cara has conquered the runways and social media, now she’s taking Hollywood. Paper Towns, along with her role in next year’s DC Comics ensemble Suicide Squad, could take her on the rare path from the least conventional kind of celebrity there is to a Hollywood leading lady. Famed as much for her off-beat personality and laid-back style as her modelling accolades, Delevingne has truly conquered what it is to be a 21st century global star, allowing her to transition between showbiz spheres effortlessly. Unlike other actresses making their film debut, Delevingne is already hugely famous, thanks to two things that are inextricably linked: her personality and her social media presence. These two factors, along with her thoroughly replicable fashion sense, have served only to elevate her higher into the ‘fashion icon’ realm.

This week on the Style File, we’re deconstructing Cara’s off-duty style so you can build your own Delevingne-inspired ensembles.

Leather jackets:

The cornerstone of every woman’s casual wardrobe: the leather jacket. Versatile, timeless, and with just the right amount of attitude, the leather jacket never fails to complete am-to-pm looks throughout the seasons. Naturally, they are a go-to favourite for casual queen Cara, who throws them on again and again with skinny jeans, beanies and biker boots for effortless grunge chic. Get the look with British brand Barbour or contemporary label Jofama for a leather jacket Cara would be proud of.

Skinny jeans:

Everyone has a pair. Everyone loves them. Comfortable, curve-hugging and, let’s face it – always on the fashion radar, the skinny jean is a requisite for off-duty comfort that forms a very sizeable portion of Cara Delevingne’s wardrobe. The skinny jean-advocate has often been seen storming the streets in Jules B favourites Paige Denim and Rag & Bone, as seen below:

Beanies:

An unbeatable cover-up for bad hair days, the beanie is an accessory that can only be pulled off by some. Miss Delevingne sports the look in the effortlessly, from dreamy cloud-prints to the irreverently sloganed, Cara has a beanie for every occasion and we bet her collection alone is bigger than our entire wardrobes.

Biker boots:

A tailor-made partner for the leather jacket, biker boots never fail to make a footwear statement. Encapsulating a rare balance of comfort, versatility and effortless style, they are of course a staple in Cara’s wardrobe. She often opts to pair them with her trademark skinny jean-beanie-leather jacket combination for the ultimate modern grudge look. Recreate her look with our selection of premium leather boots by H by Hudson and Senso.
