British Fashion Awards: The Nominees

This week the shortlisted nominees for the 2013 British Fashion Awards were released, and with the event just a month away, for the first time ever members of the public will be able to attend! Established in 1989, each year a panel of 200 members of the industry draw up a shortlist of creatives, designers and models that have contributed to the success of the International Fashion Industry over the year – celebrating the best in British style.

With the awards taking place on the 2nd of December at the London Coliseum, the list includes categories such as the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, the Best Creative Campaign, Model of the Year and Men’s and Women’s Designers of the Year – bringing out the most influential names in current British fashion.

Last year Stella McCartney scooped Designer of the Year and Best Designer Brand, but this year she’s not named in the running. Instead Christopher Kane, Phoebe Philo (of Celine) and Sarah Burton (from Alexander McQueen) will battle it out for Womenswear Designer of the Year, whilst Christopher Bailey (of Burberry), Kim Jones (from Louis Vuitton) and Tom Ford will compete for Menswear Designer of the Year. Victoria Beckham has received two nominations – for Brand of the Year and Red Carpet Designer, whilst the rumour mill suspects that Kate Moss is set to win the Outstanding Achievement accolade.

So the countdown begins until the Award Ceremony, and with speculation rife of who will be the worthy winners, we’ll leave you with the 2013 list of nominees
