These Brazilian chocolate truffles, otherwise known as Brigadeiro are so simple to make and perfect for creating a classic Brazilian atmosphere for the upcoming Olympic games. A traditional Brazilian sweet, these truffles are made form just five ingredients and can be assembles in just 10 minutes making them the perfect option for gathering, parties and celebrations.
7.5 ounces sweetened condensed milk
1 ounce dark cocoa powder
pinch of sea salt
1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
toppings: chocolate sprinkles, cacao nibs, shredded coconut
In a medium sized saucepan over low heat mix the condensed milk, sifted cocoa powder and salt and stir constantly to avoid burning.
Add the butter and vanilla extract, place in a plastic container and refrigerate. Once chilled, use a teaspoon to roll into truffle shapes, coat in chocolate sprinkles, cacao nibs or coconut and serve chilled.
