Despite the truly British rain soaked red carpet, Hollywood’s finest did not disappoint in the fashion department. With a sea of monochrome and a splash of candy floss from ‘The Queen’ Helen Mirren. Across the pond in much warmer climates, there was a lot more colour on the scene and despite the Grammy’s guidelines that guests ‘cover up’ it clearly only encouraged stars to push the boundaries.
But who came out on top?
Even though she missed out on a BAFTA to Emmanuelle Riva, Jennifer Lawrence certainty caught our attention, she looked elegantly beautiful in a Dior Haute Couture dress.
Showing you can still take risks over 60, Dame Helen Mirren got everybody talking with her new pink hairdo. Opting for a grey chiffon dress from Nicholas Oakwell Couture, ‘The Queen’ wisely avoided any colour clashing with her candy floss locks.
Despite being booed, her dress ripping and having the flu, Anne Hathaway still managed to look timelessly glamorous in a Burberry gown.
Not forgetting the men, Damian Lewis did the British proud in a velvet Burberry suit.
Stealing the show at the Grammy’s in a custom made gown, Rihanna showed her more sophisticated side whilst still looking stunning. Talk of the night was definitely the first public outing of Chris Brown & Rihanna and the suspicious ring on her finger.
Covered in diamonds but are any an engagement ring?
Katy Perry chose to ignore the Grammy’s dress code and opted for a skin-tight, revealing gown.
Did the Grammys set themselves up for a backfire? Kelly Rowland bared her highly enviable figure in a Georges Chakra gown.
Beyonce chose a surprisingly low key outfit in a Osman Studio jumpsuit, the perfect example that less is more.
The worlds new favourite ‘bromance’ Justin Timberlake & Jay Z looked dapper head to toe in Tom Ford. Since the outstanding performance of “Suit and Tie” the duo have been tipped to be working on a joint tour.
So who won the BAFTA’s or the Grammy’s?
